Ductal ectasia filled with thick fluid in a patient with mastitis

Single or multiple ductal ectasia is a common, typically benign, finding on breast ultrasound. In this case, the duct was filled with debris, suggesting purulent material, as the patient presented with mastitis. Ultrasonography was performed to rule out the presence of an abscess in the breast parenchyma.
