Mammographic and ultrasound findings of a palpable lipoma

Clinically benign mass with 6 cm in the QSL of the left breast. Oblique mediolateral incidence, exaggerated craniocaudal and focal compression.
Lipomas, due to their density similar to fat, may not be easily identified on mammography.
In this case, it was better characterized on ultrasound as it was echogenic. In cases where they are isoechoic to fat, they may not be well evaluated by ultrasound.
